Gisela Nold guides visitors through the castle, presenting you with the unique history of this protected landmark. Drawing upon her years of experience, she shows you how the castle developed from a monastery into an imposing castle complex in the course of its tumultuous history. In a walk around the castle grounds, you will experience the different castle buildings, from the tower to the refectory and the building where it all started, the Church of St. George and St. James. To top it all off, you can experience the mastery of the artist Friedrich Hechelmann in the castle’s art hall. The city gallery also offers you the chance to see temporary exhibitions.
